We did the Math: 21km ≠ just a bit more than 10k
When Math Betrays You
Well… turns out running math doesn’t quite work like regular math.
We thought: 10 km? Easy. Just double it, add a tiny bit, and voilà: half marathon! How wrong we were.
From Brunch Energy to Existential Crisis
After 10 km you still feel sporty, proud, and maybe even ready for brunch. But once you push past 14 km, something changes. Your legs start filing official complaints to your brain, your brain forwards them straight to your soul, and suddenly you’re asking yourself : “Who signed me up for this?”
Why We Keep Going
And yet — this is exactly why we’re running. Not because we secretly enjoy suffering (though we’re getting good at it), but because the kids we’re supporting face challenges every single day that make 21 km look like a warm-up.
They don’t get to choose if they’re tired, if it’s tough, or if they’d rather stop. For them, having the right school supplies is the difference between following a lesson or falling behind.
More Than a Finish Line
So yes, 21 km is long. But every aching muscle, every “why are we doing this again?” moment reminds us: it’s worth it. Because we’re running toward something much bigger than a finish line.
And soon enough, it won’t just be training anymore, it’ll be the real thing. The half marathon. The big day.
Stay with us, we promise stories, sweat, and maybe a few tears (hopefully of laughter) as we stumble toward the starting line.
